Sorry it's after Christmas, but yet, you can buy a physical gift card for the DLC in-store. To make it theft-proof, however, there is no DLC code on the card itself; it will either be printed on the receipt or emailed to you. I bought a Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion gift card for my daughter for Christmas, and I just wrote the download code on a sticky note and stuck that onto the back of the card when I gave it to her. She was very happy, so that seems like a good way to go.

This Fighter Pass is a digital code that can be typed into the digital store on the Nintendo Switch, to received extra content that can be used with the full, complete game, Super Smash bros Ultimate. You can buy the card in a Best Buy store, which is just a piece of paper, similar to a gift card. On this card is the digital code.
