All you need to do it register your copy for the My Nintendo Rewards Program. You can do this by hitting + or - while highlighting smash on the home screen. Select the My Nintendo tab and register BEFORE JANUARY 31ST to receive a code. That should be sent to your email within a couple of days so keep an eye out.

There should be an option allowing you to register your software on your My Nintendo account, thus earning you some gold coins.
