Best Buy does not typically give you the code until launch day. While Nintendo will likely allow digital purchasers to pre-install the game, that will not be the case if you buy the code from Best Buy, unless they have changed their policies. Last time I pre-ordered digitally from BB I did not get the code until around noon of launch day...

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can buy a card for download redemption and keep it until you want to use it, but with that effort you may as well buy a physical copy. I assume Nintendo and BestBuy.com aren't close enough to sell digital downloads. Honestly Nintendo is VERY protective of it's brand. Just look at what happened when they gave Phillips rights and they made titles like "Wand of Gamelon" and "Mario Hotel".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Digital purchases are tied to your Nintendo account and can be downloaded once the game is officially released anytime you have available internet connection and hard drive space. Why would you want to purchase a digital copy through Best Buy when you can literally do just that from your Nintendo Switch through their online shop that is built into the machine? As in, you don’t have to go to a store, a different website, nothing. The shop is ON your Switch already. You’re over-complicating this.
