If he already has a Nintendo Switch, Fortnite is available for free on the Nintendo Switch as well. As far as whether Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is worth it, if he enjoys Nintendo games, he will probably enjoy Super Smash Bros. Ultimate—I certainly enjoyed playing the early Super Smash Bros. games when I was younger, but that was largely because it had so many characters I knew, like Mario, Bowser, and Pikachu. And with Ultimate's cartoony style of violence, it is no more—arguably less—violent than Fortnite, if that is a concern. Super Smash Bros. also has a low skill floor (easy to pick up if you haven't played before) and high skill ceiling (even if you have played for a while, there are a lot of advanced techniques to learn and practice), so if it is a game he enjoys, he should get a lot of playtime out of it. Plus it is a great party game, if he often plays video games with friends. (Sorry if that was more information than you wanted, but I hope that helps!)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your son is a big fan of Nintendo or previous Smash Bros. games he will love this game. The purpose of the game is an All Star Battle Royal of Nintendo Character's and others from across all of video game history. The "fighting" between them is cartoony and fun though so don't worry about it being too violent, it is pick up and play fun for anyone really. I definitely recomend this game over Fortnite, it has much more content and chances are if you son starts playing Fortnite he will want to spend more and more money on it since it is loaded with micro transactions. I would recommend this game over both the Xbox One and Fortnite.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this game is worth getting for you son, especially if he already has a Switch. There's a lot of hours in this game, so he shouldn't get bored with it quickly. Also, there's multiplayer, so if he has friends or siblings, they'll be able to play together.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I won't break it down. But I feel you should lean in the direction of his interest. Smash is single player and online play and fortnite is online only.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its a fighting game with characters from Nintendo franchises. Very fun, couch co op great. Fortnite is on the Switch too, no need for Xbone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is absolutely worth it. I've played every Smash Bros game and they're all gold. You should only consider an Xbox if he has friends that also have Xboxes that he wants to play with. You can play Fortnite on Xbox, PS4, PC, Switch, and mobile and it's free to download on all of them. The battlepass is $10 every season (every 10 weeks)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.DO NOT buy him fortnite. Fortnite is a free to play game. As long as he has a playstation 4 or xbox one he can download it for free. In other words just buying him an xbox would be enough.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think he will like it, Im older and this is my first smash game. Its really fun, and FYI Fortnite is also available on the Switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Fortnite is a free to play game, you don't have to "buy it" Fortnite is available on Nintendo switch and you can download it for free from the Nintendo e-shop. You DO NOT need to buy Nintendo Switch online to play Fortnite, there is no need to buy an xbox just for Fortnite. As for Smash, it depends what games your child likes but I would guess he would enjoy this game (however it is nothing like Fortnite).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The purpose of this game is to frustrate people till wits end. If you son has 100 hours of time on his hands then go for it. You get 8 characters unlocked only and have to grind to get the rest.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
