• Works good. You have to have a separate cell line. I believe Verizon charged $40 connection fee and $20 a month

• One of the features is a SIM removal tool. An active carrier SIM card is required for 4G/LTE access. You should be able to remove an active SIM card from your phone and use it in the Surface.
