• The Swann Floodlight Camera is meant to be hard-wired using your exisiting wiring. The camera doesn't have any batteries.

• This system is meant to be hard wired to your home. There are no internal batteries.

• This is a 120V system, it does not have batteries. It is designed to replace an existing vertical wall light, such as those found on the front parch or entry way of most houses.

• I'm not sure if there are other models, but mine is wired only. There is no option for it to be battery powered. Given how bright the lights are, and how often they're likely to be tripped, I would think that batteries would go dead pretty often. If you have the choice, hard wire it.
