Hello Jojo, Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. No, this system does not require an internet connection in order to record into its 1 TB hard drive. This can be accessed while connected to a monitor using the HDMI/VGA cords on the back of the unit. Please be advised that an internet connection is required when remotely accessing your unit.
