No, this camera is directly connected to the DVR via cable and does not require internet. However, for remote viewing/access, you must connect the DVR to the internet.

No you do not. I have recently set up a few of these in both 4 and 8 channel. You do not need internet for the closed circuit system. By not having internet on it you just cannot monitor from a remote location.
