Hi Cindy. No, there are no compulsory subscription fees to use any Swann product. To view the cameras on your phone you just need to give the MaxRanger Hub an internet connection by connecting a network cable between the Hub and your Router. Then you would install the Swann Security app on your phone and pair the Hub to it. You'll then be able to view your cameras from anywhere in the world from your phone. -SD, Swann Team
