Hello 53groucho. Thank you for reaching out! To keep your MaxRanger 4K camera fully charged, we recommend positioning the solar panel for about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight each day. However, this can vary depending on how active the camera is, as more frequent recording does use up battery faster. If the camera isn’t triggered often, it may need less sunlight to stay powered. For MaxRanger cameras that don’t get enough sunlight on their inbuilt panel each day, you have the option to add an external solar panel if you wish to. In USA the panels that we’d recommend for MaxRanger are SOLAR2, SOLAR3 & SOLAR5 (coming in early 2025).
