Hello Kb, Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Based on the information provided there are many variables that can contribute to why your recorder has since become defective. In this case, we would recommend reaching out to a member of our technical support team for further assistance. Please know that our support team does offer a one-year warranty provided a copy of your receipt or 36 months with valid registration.
