“My 11 year old wants a switch for Xmas.(It will be her first) Any reason to not just buy her whatever model I can find, or do you recommend holding off until the OLED is back in the stores?”

OLED is just a nicer screen. Each model plays all the same games. The Switch Lite can't connect to a TV, but is the same none the less.
