• You'll have to look in-store to see if this is the new, refreshed hardware. You can tell by looking at the box (the new one's box is nearly entirely Red, as opposed to the red/white box of the older hardware). You can also tell if you have the console in-hand by looking at its serial number. The newer, refreshed hardware has a 01 at the end (i.e. MOD HAC-001-01)

• Yes, look at the box picture, it is the new box, and it is the revised version. I can confirm that I get much better battery life in splatoon 2.
