This lens would work well on a A6500! It doesnt weigh much and will compliment the body nicely. Remember, it is a full frame lens, so you need to think of the 1.5x crop factor of a Sony. With this 17-28mm, you are looking at around 25-42mm. I think it would be a forward-thinking purchase. You could use this on a full frame camera, if you ever decide to get one.
