• I have had this for about 2 months and have not had any issues with my surface over heating with this case. I did with a different case so that is why I bought this case

• It has not yet caused my unit to overeat. I use mine in a mobile environment so it's sitting in my van during the day. When I go to fill an invoice out, did I mention I do HVAC work, I use my Surface Pro 4 that's been sitting in a very hot van all day. It hasn't overheated yet.

• Case is 1 -1.5mm approximate - thickness about right to do the job of protecting the tablet. Does not cause over heating at least for me.
