• There is no mechanical fastener. The iPad attaches to the svivel top and the folding flap is on the bottom when it is closed. The weight of the iPad keeps it closed. Works very well. I use mine mostly in my shop (mostly woodworking and some metal working with no problems with dust or debris at all

• No magnetic closer that I can tell. The I pad folds down and the cover comes down. There is a stretch band that will keep it closed so it doesn't flop around.
