I have never had any problems with this case, including the current IPad Air 5 case. This is not the first time I’ve heard about this issue. I would contact Targus directly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have always had to press the top power button to get any of mine to lite up but I always have a code to enter before I can use it. The case doesn't change that
