you should always have a screen protector besides having the case. It is too easy to scratch you screen.

I did. Although the case is nice protection, I believe it is worth investing in a good quality screen protector. It will protect the screen from scratches. The screen protector is sized to fit within the the Targus case.

I have not purchased a screen protector. I guess the extra protection would be determined by usage. My iPad hardly ever leaves the house. This case offers sufficient protection for me.
