“Box says it has a "sleep/wake magnet". No explanation of what it is or its purpose. Anyone know?”

I agree! That is my only complaint. It does not appear to have the sleep magnet so power is still on.

When you close the cover it automatically puts your iPad in sleep mode without you pushing the button to lock/turn off the home screen and then when you open the cover it automatically turns it back on.
