HDMI Arc is a connection that can send audio to and from the connected device. Some examples would be like a soundbar or A/V receiver so you only have to use one cable for Audio and video. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On the 50" TCL Series 5 TV, I connected my Samsung soundbar via HDMI ARC and the TCL TV instantly recognized it and configured it correctly during my setup process. HDMI ARC is the way to go for connecting a soundbar since it basically makes it act like the speakers are built-into the TV. You don't have to use a separate remote to control the soundbar for volume, on/off, etc. Simply use the volume control for the TV just like you would normally. In my case, I connected my Samsung soundbar to the HDMI ARC port when I first connected everything initially and allowed the setup process do the rest. Note: Your soundbar has to have an HDMI port for this to work. Not all soundbars have an HDMI ARC port, so check first if you are buying a soundbar.
