Minimum would be eight feet for 1080P. But with 4K you can watch as close as you want. You will regret not owning the 50”, trust me.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think 50 inch the bigger the TV the better it looks is the one thing I got out of buying this ,I do not have room for a 65 inch and my money met with good quality my TCL 40 from 9 yrs ago still works 50 is a satisfying amount of TV this TV looks best looking straight on so if it is for more than 2 people I would get a larger TV but for ,me and occasional friend this is great and the Best Buy is willing to match any price and the TV got here in 3 days
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Each person has their own preference. For a question like this we would need to consider the space available for a TV and the functionality of that space. Do you have space to place an entertainment stand that will hold the size TV you want? Will you be 7 to 11 feet away from the screen and will be able to look straight at the TV not viewing from the side? If you have a space that meets the viewing requirement but not the size requirement of the TV go lower in TV size. Following these rules makes most people happy with the viewing experience. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
