“Hi, does this TV send Dolby Digital 5.1 out from it's optical audio output? I'd want to be able to connect it to my old 5.1 receiver using an optical cable. Thank you”

Please try again later.Hi— This unit's optical (digital audio) port supports 5.1/7.1 Dolby Digital & DTS multichannel audio and should therefore be compatible with your 5.1 receiver. It also includes an AV Input port and corresponding adapter for RCA cables. I just purchased this TV and haven't yet connected it to my 5.1 receiver, but will correct this response in the off-chance that any problems arise.
