Biggest difference in 4 vs. 5 is the 5 series is capable of displaying content produced in Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision is the highest performing format currently available and is usually only available on high end TV's, and not all movies are produced in Dolby Vision. With the 5 Series TCL, you'll find plenty of content shot in Dolby Vision on Amazon Prime, and on Netflix. You'll want to make sure you have the Netflix Premium plan for 4K content. I think it's around $16 a month, but worth it to take advantage of 4K and 4K with Dolby Vision.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both series include a built in Roku operating system, 4K UHD, and HDR Support. The 5-Series builds on this and has additional features such as Dolby Vision support, wide color gamut, HDR Dynamic Contrast, etc. You can also visit www.tclusa.com/products/home-theater/5-series and scroll down to "Compare All Models" to see all models compared. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
