This TCL TV is compatible with most soundbars and speakers and can be connected via HDMI eARC, Optical, Bluetooth, or the 3.5mm headphone jack. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The built in sound is not bad at all—for built in sound. A good sound bar won't buy you much more. Even an expensive one isn't great. Ideally, you need a receiver (I have a 5.2, but wish I would have bought a 7.2). That will take your viewing experience to, not just the next level, but the next dimension. Then, at a minimum, get a center speaker and two floor speakers. You can add additional speakers later if you can't afford the whole enchilada at once. The next thing to add is a 16 inch subwoofer (I have a BIC—great speaker and a great value). Then get a second one. The second sub isn't just twice as nice, it is a TON better. Then add rear speakers. And finally, if you have the 7.2 receiver, add Atmos speakers. Now you don't have to go the theater anymore. You won't just watch something on TV, you will experience it. Best wishes!

People are happy With this TVs capability to process Dolby Atmos, Dolby digital+, DTS multi channel formats. If you watch a lot of movies and shows that have surround sound, and use only the TV for audio, then the "Movie" setting may work well.
