• I'm using it connected via HDMI-ARC and my TCL TV's remote controls the soundbar by passing commands through the TV to the soundbar. I don't use the soundbar remote at all. It should work with other brands of TV as long as they support sending command and control over HDMI (HDMI-CEC) and you connect the soundbar with HDMI instead of optical.

• Mine came with its own remote control, and it will adjust the volume via the TV remote.
