It is a clear case with small x's on the back part of the case--fills up the whole back part, and the rubber bumper around the whole phone is also white. It's a beautiful and hardy case. However, I already see smudges.

The material is more of a plastic and doesn’t hold up to the scratches as well. The check case is a softer but more resilient matieral, holds up to some terrible falls and for some reason does not mark easily from scratches.
