“Is the drainage through the hose done through gravity, or does it pump it out of the hose? I don't understand how it's supposed to drain into anything since the hose is at the literal bottom.”

• It drains by gravity, not a pump. As long as the hose is placed lower than the outlet, the water will flow out automatically.
