“I preordered this and have the confirmation. The payment was pending for this item in my bank for a few days and now the charge is gone. Money is still in my account and my order still looks legit. Is this normal? I've never preordered a game before.”

Yes it is. The charge will be finalized once the item actually ships. Therefore, have $ in your account when it gets closer to ship date.
