I got it for my daughter and she was 10 and she enjoyed the game..... hope this helps...

Although the controls are not the best it's not a hard game. A 9 year old would be able to complete all the quest tasks just fine. It's a very ' No pressure' game. That being said check the reviews to decide if it's actually worth they money as I'd say no unless you can get it cheap!
