• Hi There, the cigarette cable is included, so using the hardwiring is optional!

• My unit came with both hard wire and cigarette plug.. I ordered a OBD-2 plug from amazon. Worked great.

• Has to be hard wired if you want to use all functions. (Parking mode options). Not an electrical person. So hardwired with an OB2 adapter. Simple plug and play even I could figure out. The plug in power supply gives you the option to move it temporarily to another vehicle quickly as long as you don't need the rear camera.
