The camera detects motion when the vehicle is parked, such as a person walking by or a car driving by -- and detects shaking of the vehicle by touch or impact -- and records 10 seconds before the motion and 50 seconds after. Continued motion means additional recording time.

The unit can be powered with either the car charger cable and cigarette lighter, or you may choose to hardwire the unit to your vehicle's fuse box with the hardwiring cable. The X330 dash cam comes with an 8GB card. This will provide around 1 hour of footage before the over-writing process begins.
