The camera will only record in any direction when you're pointing to that direction. For example, if you install it on the windshield and the camera is pointing to the front; then it will only recorded to the front only.

Since the X330 has a LCD display, you can power on the dash cam to see its perspective on the LCD before you mount it and adjust accordingly. We hope this helps!
