Hi Ralph,

If you do not want to power the dash cam via the cigarette lighter, you may also hardwire the dash cam to your vehicle's fuse box with our additional accessory, the hardwiring cable (TW-SH). The latter option also enables parking mode surveillance while your vehicle is turned off.

i went 2 a car audio shop they mounted a cig lighter plug under the dash so ur cam stays plugged n then u can use ur cig lighter for other options
