To use with a Roamio Plus or Pro, the Tivo Mini software does NOT need to be updated to the new user experience. Being a new generation of Tivo Mini originally designed for the Bolt and its newer interface, it will default to the new user experience, but within a day, it will realize that the main Tivo box is using its older interface. At that point the Tivo Mini will offer to downgrade itself to match the software of the main Tivo (the Roamio box) to allow a consistent experience across Tivo devices.

Yes, as long as your TiVo Roamio Plus has at least 4 tuners, is on the same account and home network, and you have no more than 12 TiVo devices. Note that the TiVo Mini VOX must be hardwired via Ethernet cable or MOCA in order to work. It will not work via wireless.

Yes. I have a Roamio Pro. It works fine, but be aware the Amazon app is not yet available for the new Vox mini. TiVo says it’s in final certification testing.

Yes but only after your Roamio Plus is upgraded to the new "TiVo Experience" software. I suggest you call TiVo support to assist you with this as it is an onerous process to get the software upgraded and get the two boxes to talk to each other. Put aside several hours of your life that you will never get back to achieve this minor engineering feat. Buena Suerte!
