- Answer I have never had to use my cell phone to use this device. Maybe a computer just to sign up for the streaming services but that's it.

- Answer Once you buy it it is yours and no further costs are involved. It is NOT a recorder but rather a gateway to streaming services similar to ROKU or AMAZON FIRE STICK. It is a very good streamer but I believe it is being discontinued.

- Answer Unlike the Amazon Fire devices, Tivo does not have a "Kid's Profile" so to do this you would have to sideload an app for that special function and then configure it for your specific purpose.

- Answer No. Buy an Amazon Recast or TIVO for antennae. Cheapest deals for TIVO come from website WEAK KNEES and usually have lifetime service included.
