“Is this thing supposed to stay in there? Odd to see what appears to be cardboard and damaged inside the microwave upon arrival. I removed it and the unit seems to function, but wondering if it is supposed to stay in there now that I took it out?”

• Cardboard does NOT belong in a microwave....especially a Convection Combo unit such as this. Manual says to remove all paper and cardboard before use EN-5

• I think that thing is called the mica cover and it's supposed to be there. It increases efficiency of the microwave

• Not sure what you are referring to, the only thing inside the microwave is the glass plate
