• I don't have the fire stick, but I do use the Roku Express and I don't have any problems with it.

• This is a common issue with the FireTV Stick on many televisions. Most FireTV Sticks are sold with either a short HDMI extender cable or an adapter which can be used to move the Fire Stick away from the HDMI port. If you do not have one they are available for purchase from multiple online retailers.
