“Should the top two screw holes intended for attaching a wall mount be different from each other? The left hole has black plastic inside that is flush with the back of the TV, while the right is only recessed metal threading.”

I did not mount this particular TV. It was a better fit on top of a dresser cabinet. However, the top screw holes being different would not be my preference. I prefer the same for both.
