“Is there some setting on this TV to get the 4k or is it ready right out of the box? I just set up this TV using the Fire TV and it looks less clear than my 1080p.”

You have to make sure you're using the Premium HDMI cables. The HDMI cables that were used for the 1080 television are not strong enough to handle the 4K.
