“I'm running directv into the HDMI 1 input and the remote is working for channels, etc but not for tv volume. I've tried both an RC72 & RC73 and same result. The directv remotes will also not turn off tv power and I've tried a few different Toshiba codes.”

Use the included Voice Remote to control the Fire TV Edition television. The remote works using Bluetooth instead of IR. Also you can download to your smartphone the Amazon Fire TV app to control your Fire TV Edition television. David M. - Toshiba Support
