Yes these drives should be a direct replacement. Make sure you have your recovery CD's to reload your OS and if you have information you wish to save make sure you back it up. Another option if your drive still works (but is acting up on you) is to mirror the old one to the new one then you don't need to go through the pain of reloading all your stuff.

While you will have access to higher capacity, you will not be able to take advantage of the SATAIII speeds; they will run at the same speed as the original 5400RPM drive.
