• For me, yes. However, this is a very subjective question and really can only be answered by you. It is equal or better than most flat screens

• The sound to alright without a sound bar. I had to turn it up loud to hear/understand dialog. But that could also be due to the layout of the room and tile floor. I added my old sound bar and love it. It would probably be ok in a smaller room with carpet. It is better than my 4 year old tv though. Hope that helps.

• The sound is alright. You can hear everything fine but you don't have the range of sound you do with a sound bar or surround system.
