Don't know what the previous sounded like but this sounds great through my yamaha soundbar & wireless sub woofer via optical vs. my vizio that was hooked up previously. It's not all half bad..... for the money is a ton of tv but it's not a $3000 tv if that makes sense. I'm super happy with it considering what i paid.
