The point of having a switch is to be able to plug in multiple devices at the same time. Obviously, they all can't be running at the maximum speed at the same time unless you are using the switch to transfer data between two plugged in devices - one sending data to the other device. In general, all the devices will share the available bandwidth to the internet.
