• Open is better, but mine is in a doorless cabinet and it works fine.

• Hi bb28, For optimal coverage, we generally recommend minimizing physical obstructions around the main Deco node so it can provide a strong and reliable signal to the satellite nodes. However, if you plan to use Ethernet backhaul, the placement of each node is significantly more flexible.
