If you have a multi-pack. there is no designated router in the box. The first one you set up will be the router, and plugging in the Internet connection takes one of the 2 ports. The other is usable for your network. On all other Decos in your mesh, both ports will function as LAN ports.

Each Deco M9 unit is equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, meaning the primary Deco that is connected to your modem will have 1 available port after being connected to your Modem, and the secondary Deco M9 unit will have 2 available ports (unless you use one of its ports to connect via Ethernet Backhaul). If additional Ethernet connectivity is required, simply adding an Ethernet switch to either Deco unit can accomplish this. Regards, TP-Link Support
