Hi! If your Internet service provider requires a modem for Internet connectivity, then yes - you will need a modem. We would recommend verifying the modem requirements of your ISP, then obtaining a modem that meets or exceeds their minimum requirements for your Internet speed plan. The modem can then be connected to the main Deco node via Ethernet cable when setting up your Deco Mesh Wi-Fi System.

The Deco X25 seems to support Gigabit speeds up to 1.8Gb so any modem that supports Gigabit speeds would work. Though I would check your ISP and see what type of modem they support as well as the internet speed they provide you. You want your modem to closely match your plan so you get maximum value out of your plan. I would say the same about routers, though with them you definitely want to make sure they can support all the devices you'll connect to your router.
