• The bulb is designed for indoor use; not outdoor. However, as long as the environment remains sheltered from the elements and within the following specifications, it should work: Operating Temperature: -15 ºC~ 40 ºC (5°F ~ 104°F ) Operating Humidity: 10%~90% RH, Non-condensing Regards, TP-Link Support

• I have 2 of these, one in a lamp and the other in a ceiling fan. I don't know why it wouldn't work in anything that accepts the bulb.
