My plug is by garage door and where the router is about 50 feet. It also depends of your Router signal as well. If you decided to purchase this plug, set it up near by your Router first and then move it to where ever you like to use within the strength of your Router signal. I hope this help.

I have a good router with strong signal strength. I can walk a few houses down the street and still pick up my wireless connection on my phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is 60 feet from my router - and it is outside my home while my router is inside. Works fine. I have another in my shed that’s 120 feet away - works fine. A lot depends on the quality of your router I suppose.
