They are both individually controllable. I have a lamp on one side and a fan on the other side and I can control them together or separately on the app or with Alexa.

Independent of each other. Each can be named for a different light or electronic and turned on by an Alexa command.

You can set them up to be independent of one another. I use one side for my light and the other for the tv.

Independent, you can set up a lamp shade on one and other to different appliance and can set different schedule on each.
